Meet Betsy, Professional Organizer and Founder of BK Organizing

If you ask Betsy Kelly how she became a Professional Organizer, she’ll tell you that she didn't become an organizer - she just is one! But she thinks it was likely the pleasure of organizing her own closet as a child that hooked her on the act of sorting, categorizing and tidying.

A graduate of Fordham University, Betsy spent more than 20 years working in corporate environments, specifically in publishing, media and PR. In 2012, she decided to become her own boss and finally step into her dream of organizing professionally. BK Organizing was born!

In her early years as an organizer, Betsy’s knowledge grew from her own intuition, mentorship and subcontracting with other professionals. Today, she receives ongoing education and resources through NAPO, the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. Betsy is a member of both the National Chapter and the Greater Boston area chapter. As a NAPO member, Betsy has pledged to follow the NAPO Code of Ethics, a set of principles that provide guidelines for the organizer’s conduct with clients, colleagues and the community.

In her spare time, Betsy loves to spend time with her family, hit the ski slopes and dig into a good book. She is nourished by her friendships and always enjoys a rousing game of pickleball or tennis. Ever curious about the world, Betsy has traveled extensively and continues to explore the Boston area and beyond as much as possible.

Betsy understands the vulnerability that comes with inviting a stranger into your space. Her goal is to bring a calm, grounding presence to each project, and make sure you feel comfortable before beginning the work of organizing. You can schedule a free 30-minute Zoom consultation to meet and get to know her better before you move forward.

Happy Organizing!

It’s not that your home is extremely disorganized…

Things just get a little crazy around the holidays.
And when work gets busy.
And on the weekends…

But once a year or so, you do a huge organizing overhaul, decluttering and putting your home back in order, Kon Mari style. Ahh, that feels good!

Except that things end up getting cluttered again after the next family gathering, birthday or “busy” time. Why??

We’ve all been there.

Here’s the thing. Without organizing systems in place, your efforts won’t stick. Our goal is to help you organize your home in a way that makes it easy to tidy, no matter what happens in your daily family and work life.

Please reach out for a free 30-Minute consultation or to learn more about our Professional Organizing and Move Management services. We are here to make you feel at home.

Betsy’s Organizing Philosophy:

No.1 Less Is More. Editing and decluttering is key to the organizing process.

No.2 We will NEVER force a client to throw something away. Our place is not to make judgments or decisions but simply to provide support and suggestions during the editing process.

No.3 The organizing systems we put in place must work for your brain and your family’s habits. Just because something looks pretty doesn’t mean it’s the right system for you! By asking open-ended questions and developing an understanding of your stuck points, we identify and implement the best organizing strategies to support your individual needs and space.

NAPO Code of Ethics:

"As a member of The National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals, I pledge to exercise judgment, self-restraint, and conscience in my conduct in order to establish and maintain public confidence in the integrity of NAPO members and to preserve and encourage fair and equitable practices among all who are engaged in the profession of organizing.

I will serve my clients with integrity, competence, and objectivity, and will treat them with respect and courtesy.”
