Mission of Deeds
Mission of Deeds gives beds, furniture, and household items, free of charge, to people in need.
This small charity has been around for more than 30 years and is based in Reading, MA. They accept donations of housewares and household goods for families in transition. The clients include the formerly homeless, victims of domestic violence, elders without support, refugees, displaced veterans, and the disabled.
One of their largest programs focuses solely on providing beds and bedding. Mission of Deeds has purchased thousands and thousands of mattresses, box springs, and often bed frames. Outside of donating household goods, you can also donate art and valuables that they will sell with the proceeds going to purchase new beds. From the sale of one Persian Bidjar Rug, they were able to purchase 11 beds!
